Questions buyers ask us
01Accounts and payment
3 questions1.1Is an account required to place an order?
No. Any customer can buy at the public price through guest checkout, paying by card. A customer account adds invoice downloads, order tracking and quicker repeat orders; an approved trade account adds trade pricing and quotes.
1.2How can orders be paid for?
By debit or credit card through a secure checkout, with payment taken when the order is placed. Trade account holders pay their trade price in the same way.
1.3Does the price shown include everything?
The product page shows the price you will be charged for the item. Any delivery charge appears as a separate line at checkout, before payment.
02Delivery
2 questions2.1What is the delivery charge, and when are orders dispatched?
Items in stock are dispatched on the same working day when the order is received before the weekday cut-off. Orders above the published threshold are delivered free of charge. The current charge, threshold and cut-off time are published on the delivery page. Delivery terms
2.2Can orders be collected?
No. CCTV Traders operates online only and has no collection counter; all orders are delivered to the address given at checkout. Delivery arrangements are explained on the delivery page. Delivery arrangements
03Returns and faults
3 questions3.1What are the return terms for a consumer?
A consumer is entitled by law to cancel most online orders, and the period runs to 14 days after delivery. Separate rights apply where goods are faulty. Both are set out in full on the returns page, together with the procedure for starting a return. Returns policy
3.2How is a faulty item handled?
Faulty goods fall under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which provides for a repair, replacement or refund; the remedy depends on when the fault arises. Please email us, giving your order reference and the symptoms you have seen; we will confirm the next step. Report a faulty item
3.3What warranty applies?
Warranty terms vary by item; the product page states those that apply. Statutory rights are not affected by any warranty.
04Products and compatibility
2 questions4.1Can you confirm compatibility with an existing recorder?
Yes. Compatibility depends on two things: the make of recorder, and whether it is an IP or an analogue HD system. Each product page gives the key specifications; if in doubt, send us the recorder's model number and we will confirm. Request a compatibility check
4.2Do you supply complete kits?
Yes. A kit brings together the recorder, the cameras and the cabling, selected as one system. Kits are listed beside the individual components, so a job can be priced either way. Browse the catalogue
